Jaws: Classical Music For Halloween

Big, scary things sneaking up on people is a tradition in scary movies. The theme from Jaws it the classic example of how music makes the scene in most films. Can you imagine a giant shark sliding through the water, ready to attack an unaware swimmer, and Baby Shark plays in the background? It doesn’t fit the scene. John Williams, however, created the perfect music for that stealthy denizen of the deep seeking his next victim.

Listen to a couple of things. First, realize that the theme is everyone recognizes is just two notes. Second, the French horn comes in and you may recognize that it’s playing a tri-tone, just like in Danse Macabre. Truly a spooky harmony.

Halloween is only 7 days away so click on the playlist in the sidebar and set the mood with some great spooky classical music.
